Frederick Brandlinger
Died intestate, petition for inquest
The petition of John Brantlinger,
son and heir at law of Frederick Brantlinger, late of Wheatfield township, Indiana county,
deceased, was presented to this Court, respectfully showing: That the petitioner's said
fater lately died intestate, leaving issue eight children to wit: Jacob Brantlinger,
Elizabeth, intermarried with Jacob Lute, Joseph Brantlinger, David Brantlinger, Mary,
intermarried with Andrew Lute, Susan intermarried with Philip Lichtenfelt, John
Brantlinger, and Margaret intermarried with Elijah Marsh: And that said intestate died
seized in his *demesne as of fee of and in a certain tract of land, situate in Wheatfield
township, Indiana county afore said, adjoining lands of Joseph Sides, Joseph Brantlinger,
John Brantlinger, Jacob Gamble and others. Containing one hundred and forty acres, more or
less, with the appurtenances. The petitioner, therefore prays your Honors to award an
Inquest to make partition of the premises aforsaid to and among the children and
representatives of the said intestate in such manner and in such properties as by the laws
of this Commonwealth is directed, if such partition can be made without prejudice to or
shorting the whole. But if such partition cannot be made thereof as aforesaid, then to
value and appraise the same and make report of their proceedings herein according to law.
Be it remembered, that on the Eighth day of
April, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven, letters of
Administration in common form were granted to John Brandlinger, upon the estate of
Frederick Brandlinger
